LMTA to Host Workshop and Master Class by Dr. Paul Barnes

The Lincoln Music Teachers Association will host a FREE workshop and master class by Dr. Paul Barnes at the Glenn Korff School of Music, Westbrook Music Building, UNL Campus, 1400 “R” Street on Saturday, November 8, 2014.  The presentation entitled “Weight Just A Minute! And Other Thoughts on Piano Techniques” will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 PM, and the Master Class with students of LMTA Members will be from 2:30 to 3:30 PM.  The workshop is free and open to the public. Barnes is the Marguerite Scribante Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Music, Co-chair of Piano and member of the American Liszt Society Board of Directors.  In great demand as a pedagogue and clinician, Barnes has served as convention artist at several state MTNA conventions and was named ‘Teacher of the Year” by the Nebraska Music Teachers Association. Barnes taught at the famed Amalfi Coast Festival in Italy in July of 2013 and will teach at the Vienna International Piano Academy in June of 2015.
