LMTA has a wide range of teachers with different backgrounds and teaching styles. Using our member directory to find your teacher will enable you to pick a teacher that best fits your needs. Whether you are looking for a Kindermusik teacher for your toddler or are an adult beginner or someone wanting to take refresher courses, LMTA has a teacher for you.
This directory allows you to filter your criteria so that you can choose a teacher that best fits what you are looking for. You can filter the list by teaching fields for the instrument you are looking for or search by zip code for a teacher near you. Other criteria are available. The majority of our teachers have e-mail, however, we recommend that you contact them by phone. LMTA recommends all their teachers and does not make specific recommendations. You can contact the teacher directly if their information is listed.
HELPFUL TIPS IN SELECTING A TEACHER
The following are typical questions to ask prospective teachers:
· What is your education, teaching experience and teaching philosophy?
· Do you teach private or group lessons?
· What are your expectations for students and parents?
· What is your fee?
· Where are you located?
· What method books do you use?
· What performing opportunities do you offer your students?
· Some teachers may suggest that you come for an interview before starting lessons.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP status in LMTA is given to teachers who meet continuing education and participation requirements.
