Accounting Consultant Opening

The Lincoln Music Teachers Association, a non-profit organization for area music teachers, their students, and the community, is currently accepting applications for the following position:

Accounting Consultant: LMTA seeks an individual or accounting firm to do quarterly review of Quickbook entries, close out the fiscal year, and assist in getting accounts up to standards. Candidate will serve as an independent contractor.

Specific Job Assignments, Functions and Duties:

-Quarterly review of Quickbooks transactions.

-End of Fiscal Year: review and close books; make needed adjustments; etc

-Assist with getting accounts up to standards; define and track net asset accounts; track grants and expenses as needed.

Essential Elements:

Familiarity with Quickbooks, Excel, and non-profit accounting

Educational Requirements:

Four year College Degree in Business and/or Accounting, esp. non-profit accounting

Work Experience Requirements:

Non-profit accounting with references

Substitution for Education or Work Experience

Comparable work or education will be considered

Competencies, Skills and Abilities Required:

-Computers: Quickbooks, Excel

-Math skills

-Communication skills
