LMTA has two fundraisers planned before the end of this year. Our goal is to reach and exceed the $5,000 mark for our M.U.S.I.C. Endowment Fund. The first event will be the Bookfair planned for November 6, Sunday afternoon at the Southpoint Barnes and Noble Bookstore; the second will be the Play-a-thon at Westfield Gateway Mall on Saturday, December 17. All students are encouraged to participate in both!
Attached is a promotional handout for the Barnes and Noble Fundraiser. Please distribute this flyer to each of your students and encourage them and your friends to forward the information to any who might be interested in making purchases from Barnes and Noble that week. A percentage of all in-store (on November 6th at the Southpoint location only) and on-line (using the Bookfair ID code 10566974 for purchases Nov 6 - 10th) will be donated back to our M.U.S.I.C. Endowment Fund. If you or your friends, students, or acquaintances have any needed holiday shopping for toys, books, or other materials, please consider doing so that week and identifying yourself as a friend of LMTA to the bookstore cashiers or using the on-line bookfair code. Let's get the word out, please!
If you would like to sign up for a student performance time-block or would like to volunteer at the store any time between 1:00-5:00 pm, please contact Jane Sonneland. There will be a variety of ways we can use your help and we appreciate all offers. If you only have a few students to play at random times, encourage them to come and they will be worked into the playing schedule as allowed. Student performance schedules and volunteer assignments will be emailed closer to November 6th. This is an exciting time for LMTA as we move into the final phase of our 2011 fundraising efforts!
