2013 marks the 90th anniversary of the Lincoln Alumni Chapter of Mu Phi Epsilon, and the 45th anniversary of the founding of Beta Pi Chapter at Nebraska Wesleyan University. The Alumni Chapter has invited Rosemary Ames, International President of Mu Phi Epsilon and Dr. Nelita True, internationally recognized pianist and piano pedagogue and Mu Phi member, to assist in celebrating this important anniversary. In addition to a busy schedule of meetings and activities involving members of Mu Phi Epsilon and a workshop in Omaha sponsored by UNO on Friday, several Lincoln events are open to the public.
On Saturday, October 26, 2013 the Lincoln Music Teachers Association (LMTA) will host a pedagogy session by Dr. True entitled “Technique Through Listening” from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. True will then conduct a master class from approximately 3:15 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Both sessions will be held at O’Donnell Auditorium in the Rogers Center for Fine Arts on the Nebraska Wesleyan University campus. Admission for adults is $10.00 payable at the door. Students may attend for free.
The celebration will culminate in a recital featuring music by Mu Phi Epsilon at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at O’Donnell Auditorium. The recital is free and open to the public.
