LMTA to hold first meeting on September 13

The Lincoln Music Teachers Association will begin the year with a meeting, educational program and potluck brunch on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Fellowship Community Church, 8601 from 9:30-11:30 AM. Dr. Brenda Wristen, and Jameson Varpness Leftridge, will present “Meta Cognition & Piano Practice: From Theory to Implementation".

Wristen is Associate Professor of Piano Pedagogy in the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she directs the piano pedagogy and keyboard skills programs and the Community Piano Experience, an outreach program offering beginning and intermediate class piano instruction for adult recreational pianists. Leftridge holds a BA in Music from Dickinson State University and a MM in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is an independent music teacher, church musician and assistant coordinator for the Community Piano Experience at UNL.
