LMTA to Sponsor a Carol Klose Composition Workshop September 8, 2012

Carol Klose, an accomplished performer, teacher, clinician, composer and arranger, will present a workshop to members of the Lincoln Music Teachers Association on how to teach composition skills to their students. The workshop will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 28th & Franklin Streets, Lincoln, Nebraska. A luncheon will be available for a nominal cost after the workshop. Non-LMTA teachers are invited to attend, but registration is requested. Ms. Klose will also be featured in a Hal Leonard Publisher’s Showcase to be held at Dietze Music House on Friday, September 7. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m. with the workshop from 9:30 a.m. to noon. There will be refreshments, free sheetmusic for every attendee, and special discounts. Formerly on the faculty of the Wisconsin College/Conservatory of Music, Ms. Klose has conducted workshops and master classes in the U.S. and Australia, specializing in student composition. Ms. Klose has over twenty years’ experience in the music publishing field as author, editor, arranger, and composer. Original works include piano solos, duets, art songs, a musical version of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, as well as pieces in the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library and the NGPT Allison Contemporary Piano Collection. Ms. Klose holds degrees in Piano Performance from Rosary College (Dominican University) (Summa cum Laude) and Villa Schifanoia Graduate School of Fine Arts, Italy.
