Post date: Apr 3, 2014 9:24:20 PM

Dr. Larry Jones, Professor of Music from Nebraska Wesleyan University, will talk about 18th and 19th century pianos at a general membership meeting of the Lincoln Music Teachers Association 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 12, at the Vance D. Rogers Fine Arts Building, third floor choir room. Jones was on sabbatical leave from Nebraska Wesleyan during spring semester 2013. He and his wife, Barb, lived in London for three months where they attended concerts, lectures and plays and visited historic sites. He researched 18th & early 19th century pianos at six major historic instrument collections in London, Surrey, Kent, and Edinburgh, Scotland and was given permission to play instruments in most of the collections as he sought to learn what the pianos were like during the time of the Classic and early Romantic composers. Interested non LMTA members are invited.
