Music on the Trail

Donna Gunn, Nationally Certified Teacher of Music [NCTM], will give a presentation to the Lincoln Music Teachers Association [LMTA] entitled “Music on the Trail: Where American Folk Songs Meet Classical Art Music” at their membership meeting from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 22, 2019, Fellowship Community Church, 8601 Holdrege Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. A longtime LMTA member herself, Gunn has been on the trail providing music education programs throughout the state. The wagons bring her home to provide a membership workshop made possible with the support of Humanities NE. Guests are welcome to attend. Inquire at www.LMTA.info.

From Westport, Missouri to "Oregon Blue," experience life on the Oregon Trail. Sing Oregon Trail folksongs, hear personal stories from the early travelers, and listen to solo piano pieces based on the folksongs that are interwoven into the canvas of the covered wagon way of life.
