Music Student to perform for LMTA Music Outreach Program

Sean Lebita, student of Jo Riecker-Karl, will perform a piano recital at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 27, 2015, for the benefit of the Lincoln Music Teachers Association Music Outreach Program (LMTA-MOP) at Fellowship Community Church, 8601 Holdrege Street, Lincoln, Nebraska. The recital is open to the public and a free-will offering will be taken. The LMTA Music Outreach Program offers reduced lessons, instruments and sheet music to children who otherwise could not afford them. Lebita will enter the tenth grade at Lincoln North Star High School in the fall where he is active in the fine arts program. He has earned several honorable mentions in the Nebraska Music Teachers Association State Junior Piano Competitions and placed third in the 2013 LMTA Biennial Composition Contest. He received a purple ribbon three years consecutively at the Gathering of Talents at Concordia University and was a finalist in the State Fair Galaxy of Stars in 2014. He has recently received recognition for being in the top three percent of his freshman North Star Class. Hobbies include Nintendo, robotics, archery, playing cards, mathematics and hanging out with friends.
Over the last four years Sean regularly donated to and performed in fundraisers for the LMTA Music Outreach program. He performs in hospitals, nursing homes and retirement communities as a volunteer with the Young Lincoln Performers and also performs his own programs.
LMTA-MOP is supported in part by grants from the Nebraska Arts Council & the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, the Lincoln Community Foundation, the Pearle Francis Finigan Foundation, the Cooper Foundation and the Harris Foundation in addition to private donations. It receives community support from Dietze Music House, CGSmusic, The Violin Shop, Marilyn Wallin, and local piano tuners: Adkins Piano Tuning, Larry Caldwell, Norman Dority, Scott Kerns and Rachel West. LMTA-MOP is administered by a volunteer LMTA committee. All donations are used to support scholarships for students who can document need. LMTA is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.
